When you first bring your puppy home it is a very exciting but busy time. If you’re constantly cleaning up messes, not getting much sleep, being bitten and jumped on, you may feel you need to start Puppy School right now!

Our online Puppy School program allows you to do just that! It’s designed for puppies 2-6 months old, however these lessons provide a great foundation for any dog that needs some basic training or missed out on puppy preschool.

What Your Puppy Will Learn

  • The Basics: Your pup will learn basic cues like sit, look, touch, down, relax and stay. These foundational skills will help you negotiate our busy urban environment as a team.
  • Recall: A reliable recall is vital if you want to give your pup the freedom to be off-leash in a safe area and play with their friends.
  • Loose Leash Walking: This course provides you with the tools on how to teach your puppy to walk on a loose leash, in the heel position for crossing the road, pass other dogs politely and have good connection with you when out and about.
  • Sit To Greet: The jumping may be cute when they’re small – not so much when your puppy grows up!  We explain how to teach your pup to sit to greet from an early age.
  • Management: Life with a puppy has its challenges. Literally, everything goes into their mouths! Cues like “drop it” and “leave it” will help you manage this when you are out and about.

What You Will Learn

  • How to “speak dog”: Being able to read your puppy’s and other dogs’ body language is absolutely essential and allows you to determine how they are feeling.  Then you can make better decisions based on what you see, and you will end up with a confident, well-balanced and happy dog.
  • Toilet Training: We can show you how to train your pup where the toilet is – in a positive way. You will learn the keys to success and have your puppy toilet-trained in no time.
  • Socialisation: Puppies go through several (critical) socialization periods that can be pivotal in how they turn out as adults. We can show you what to expect and when, and how to safely socialize your puppy at their pace.
  • Problem Solving Skills: Like humans, dogs go through several different phases in their development.  From fear periods to rebellious teenagers. We can give you the necessary skills to successfully navigate your way through these stages in their life.

Course Details

  • 5 x Puppy Classroom lessons to complete at your convenience.
  • 1 x 45-minute live Zoom lesson to book with Kim.
  • Puppy Classroom
  • 1 x 1.5hr pre-recorded theory lesson.
  • 4 x lessons that include 20+ demonstration videos and 30+ PDFs.
  • Immediate access to all Puppy Classroom online course resources.
  • 6 months access to the Puppy Classroom and included Zoom lesson – your puppy will likely require more targeted training past this age.
  • Your teacher is Delta accredited and a Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer.
  • $99 inc. GST for 5-lesson course.
  • Upon completion, you will be emailed your puppies Graduation Certificate and you might even like to purchase one of our graduation outfits, so you can take some photos as wonderful mementos.

Online Training Benefits

Benefits

  • You can learn at your own pace and from the comfort of your home.   
  • Great for people who’s working hours are not conducive to attending regular classes
  • There are usually fewer distractions in a home environment – however, the ability ignore distractions still needs to be built on.
  • Online training is more affordable and there are no travelling expenses.
  • You are still learning from qualified trainer with years of experience.
  • No vaccination status, age or breed requirements. 

Limitations

  • Group classes mean puppies learn to settle around other puppies.
  • Classes have controlled puppy play sessions – mind you, appropriate play is only a small part of the socialisation process, and I can still teach you how to socialise your puppy safely with sound advice and guidance.

Training puppies takes time, patience, and consistency, but it’s an investment in your future together and it’s fun!

What To Expect

Lesson 1

Our first lesson is a theory-based 1.5hr video covering toilet training, managing biting and chewing, alone time, sleeping arrangements, setting boundaries and socialisation…

The training building blocks!

Lessons 2-5

Demonstration videos show you how to teach your puppy the basics and beyond.

Once you know what you are doing, your pup will follow, and you can work together as a team.

Zoom Lesson

Your one-on-one Zoom lesson can be booked anytime during your 6 months course access.

You choose what we cover in this lesson, and we can always schedule additional paid Zoom lessons.

Application

I will give you the confidence and skill to apply what you have learned to real-life situations… 

Including how to prevent problem behaviours from developing in the first place!
